Salaries by City Worksite

City worksite pages are the most local view this site publishes. Because the prevailing wage for an LCA filing is determined for a specific area of employment, the city is the level at which offered wages are most directly priced. This index lists the thirty-five worksite cities with the most certified filings in FY2024–FY2025, each linking to a page with its median offered wage, wage range, top employers and top occupations.

A city's median can be dominated by its industry mix or even by a single employer. Technology-centred metros post high medians because a large share of their filings are for software and data roles; cities hosting a major medical centre, university or corporate headquarters show medians shaped by that institution's filing pattern. The employer table on each city page makes that concentration measurable: if the top employer accounts for a large fraction of the city's cases, the city median is largely a description of that employer's mix, and its employer page is the better benchmark.

Worksite city is taken exactly as recorded in the disclosure files, which has practical consequences readers should know. Employers record the city of the place of employment, which for client-site work is the client's location rather than the filing firm's office, and for remote arrangements is the location reported on the filing. Neighbouring suburbs in the same metropolitan area appear as separate cities in the data even though they share one labour market, so comparing a city with its suburbs is often more informative than treating any one municipal boundary as an economic line.

All city figures use certified cases only, headline medians from annual-wage filings only, and the same outlier rule as the rest of the site. Counts are counts of filings, not workers, and the methodology page explains why that distinction matters for every geographic page on this site.

How These Figures Were Computed

Every figure on this page was computed by our script directly from the U.S. Department of Labor OFLC LCA disclosure files for FY2024 Q4 and FY2025 Q1–Q4, retrieved in October 2026. We kept only cases whose CASE_STATUS is exactly “Certified” — denied, withdrawn and certified-withdrawn cases are excluded. Headline medians use filings whose wage unit is a year, because annual salaries compare cleanly; hourly, weekly and monthly filings are counted in case totals but are not converted into the headline median, and our methodology page explains that choice in full. Wages below $15,080 a year (the annualized federal minimum wage at $7.25 an hour) or above $1,000,000 a year are excluded from medians as likely data-entry placeholders, and the number excluded is reported in the manifest that accompanies this site. Medians are shown alongside means because a handful of very large offers can drag a mean far above what a typical filing actually offered.
