Salary Data from Labour Condition Filings
Every year, employers who want to hire workers through the H-1B, H-1B1 and E-3 programmes must first file a Labor Condition Application with the U.S. Department of Labor, stating the occupation, the worksite and the wage they will offer. Those filings are public, and the Department publishes them as the OFLC LCA disclosure files. This site turns those raw disclosure files — 717,449 rows across the FY2024 Q4 and FY2025 Q1–Q4 releases — into readable salary pages: a page for each of the 150 employers with the most certified filings, for each of the forty most common occupations, and for the states and cities where the most sponsored work is located.
The headline finding is simple to state and easy to misuse. Across all certified filings, the median offered wage is $123,282. That single number blends software engineers in expensive coastal metros with teachers, healthcare workers, engineers and analysts across the whole country, so it is a starting point for orientation and nothing more. The useful work on this site happens one level down: on the occupation pages, where pay is compared within a single SOC code; on the city pages, where it is compared within a single labour market; and on the employer pages, where a firm's overall figure is broken down into the occupations and worksites that actually produced it.

Guides to Reading This Data
Eight short guides explain the concepts behind these pages: how LCA disclosure data works, prevailing wage levels I to IV, the Software Developers SOC 15-1252 caveat, our outlier and data-cleaning rule, offered wages versus actual pay, the visa classes in LCA data, median versus mean, and how to compare an offer against filing data. Each guide is written from the same dataset and the same cleaning rules as the data pages, and each one states plainly what the filings can and cannot establish.
Three reading rules will keep you honest with this data. First, prefer medians to means: a small number of very large offers pulls a mean upward, while the median shows the filing in the middle. Second, compare like with like — the same occupation in the same kind of place — before comparing employers. Third, remember what a filing is: an attested offered wage on a public form, filed before employment begins, not a payslip. Our methodology page documents every cleaning decision behind these pages, including the exclusion of certified-withdrawn cases, the decision to base headline medians on annual-wage filings only, the outlier rule that removes placeholder wages below $15,080 and above $1,000,000, and the caveat that attaches to SOC code 15-1252.
How These Figures Were Computed
Every figure on this page was computed by our script directly from the U.S. Department of Labor OFLC LCA disclosure files for FY2024 Q4 and FY2025 Q1–Q4, retrieved in October 2026. We kept only cases whose CASE_STATUS is exactly “Certified” — denied, withdrawn and certified-withdrawn cases are excluded. Headline medians use filings whose wage unit is a year, because annual salaries compare cleanly; hourly, weekly and monthly filings are counted in case totals but are not converted into the headline median, and our methodology page explains that choice in full. Wages below $15,080 a year (the annualized federal minimum wage at $7.25 an hour) or above $1,000,000 a year are excluded from medians as likely data-entry placeholders, and the number excluded is reported in the manifest that accompanies this site. Medians are shown alongside means because a handful of very large offers can drag a mean far above what a typical filing actually offered.
Frequently Asked Questions
What data does this site use?
This site is built entirely from the U.S. Department of Labor OFLC LCA disclosure files for FY2024 Q4 and FY2025 Q1–Q4, retrieved in October 2026. From 717,449 total rows across those files, we kept 662,198 cases whose status is exactly Certified and computed every median, mean and count shown here from those rows.
Are these the salaries people were actually paid?
No. The figures are offered wages stated on Labor Condition Application filings — the wage the employer attested it would pay. The overall median offered wage in this dataset is $123,282. Actual pay can differ because of raises, bonuses, part-year work, or a filing that never resulted in employment starting.
Which visa classes are included?
The LCA form is used for the H-1B, H-1B1 and E-3 visa classes, and the disclosure files cover all three. This site labels its data accurately as LCA disclosure data rather than attributing every filing to a single visa class, and the visa-class guide page explains the breakdown recorded in the files.
